Guillermo A. Roses

DECEMBER 15, 1955 - AUGUST 2, 2024

From Gerry & Danila (ex-sister in law):

Guillermo Antonio Roses known to most as Gil, Tito Gil to Gabriel, Dominique, Javier and Harper, his nieces and nephews and to a few of us Gilie Boy.

Born in Manila, Philippines on Thursday the 15th of December 1955 he was a Christmas gift to his parents Leila Benitez and Gerardo Roses.

Gil had a happy beautiful soul, he was kind, funny and a good friend to many. He loved white rice, Cat Stevens, his ice coffees, his cigarettes, the color blue, pay day and the occasional porn. He loved to travel and given the opportunity he would have done more of it.

Like most of us Gil had his ups and downs. Through one of those downs, he found where he felt he belonged. He found a group who accepted him for who he was and who helped him overcome one of life’s hurdles, where the “serenity prayer” became part of his everyday life.

He said goodbye to us and this world too soon. We are all grateful for the time we were able to spend with him in the last month of his life and we are especially grateful that he didn’t suffer in his last days.

It is with a heavy heart that we bid you farewell and until we meet again, we will keep your memory in our hearts

From Dominique:

I love you. 💖 I hope you find peace where you're going and are met with the kindness you deserve. I'm grateful for the last month we've spent together, for your laugh and your trust that we were taking care of you the best we could- and I'm sorry that it wasn't perfect and that we couldn't give you everything as we prepared to say goodbye. I'll miss a lot of things about you, and I'm grateful I got to tell you that I love you one last time. Thank you for being my uncle, Tito Gil. Rest well.
