This acquisition marked the beginning of the original Wieting Funeral Home. In 1968, an expansion project incorporated the older Luecker Chapel into the modern facility. By 1972, the business became Wieting Funeral Home, Inc. when Merlin "Fuzzy" Wieting, Jr. joined the family enterprise. In 1985, the Wieting's purchased the Reedsville Cooperative Funeral Home, which had originally opened in 1939. Following the passing of Merlin Sr. in 1994, the corporation was restructured, with Fuzzy Wieting becoming the sole owner of the Brillion and Reedsville locations under Wieting Funeral Homes, Inc.
