The history of Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes is deeply rooted in the Oshkosh area. The business traces its origins to 1875 when it began as Konrad & Wolf Co., a small store on North Main Street. After Mr. Wolf retired, it became W. Konrad Furniture, later evolving into Konrad Furniture Co. and moving to a larger Main Street location. In the 1930s, the undertaking business became the primary focus, and the furniture division split off to become Konrad Upholstery. The funeral home then relocated to its current site on Waugoo Avenue. In 1958, the name changed to Konrad Funeral Home, Inc., with three generations of the Konrad family serving the community. In 1981, Bill Behlman joined the fourth generation of Konrads—Gary and Paul—and the name became Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, Ltd. Dave “Gus” Goltz joined as a partner in 1986. After the retirements of Gary Konrad (2011), Bill Behlman (2012), Paul Konrad (2014), and Dave Goltz (2017), Jay Schultz, who joined the team in 1994, assumed primary ownership and continues the tradition of dedicated service.
