About
Weller Funeral Home, located at 327 North MacLeod Avenue in Arlington, Washington, has been a steadfast pillar of compassionate funeral care since its founding in 1904. With over a century of service, this family-oriented funeral home has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community while maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality, dignity, and personalized attention. The funeral home is proud to be part of the Dignity Memorial® network, North America's premier provider of funeral, cremation, and cemetery services, ensuring families receive the highest standards of care and value.
The history of Weller Funeral Home is deeply rooted in Arlington's heritage. It began in 1904 as a hardware and furniture store operated by Charles H. Bakeman and Arthur H. Moll. Bakeman, one of the first funeral directors in the Washington Territory, started building caskets as a side business after a settler requested an emergency casket in 1884. By 1905, Bakeman and Moll officially launched the funeral business, which also sold hardware, furniture, and carpets. In 1961, Arthur Moll sold the funeral home to Lloyd Solie and Robert Weller from Everett, who renamed it Weller & Solie Funeral Home. The Weller family lived in an attached apartment while operating the home. Later, in the late 1960s, the Wellers purchased Solie's interest and renamed the business Weller Funeral Home. Under Robert Weller's leadership, the funeral home expanded, adding a beautiful new chapel, office space, and other features in 1972. The funeral home was eventually sold to Uniservice, which later became part of the Dignity Memorial network.
Today, Weller Funeral Home offers a comprehensive range of end-of-life services, including traditional funerals, cremation, water cremation, and innovative human composting—a natural alternative that transforms a body into nutrient-rich soil. Families can also personalize celebrations of life, scattering ceremonies, and memorialization in Arlington Cemetery's Avenue of Flags, which honors over 400 deceased veterans. The funeral home provides onsite services, a chapel, and wheelchair-accessible facilities with free parking. Their team of licensed, certified professionals guarantees custody of care, ensuring your loved one is treated with the utmost respect and security at every step. They offer transparent pricing, prepayment plans, and a 100% service guarantee, available 24/7 to assist families during their time of need.
