Money, a cabinetmaker, the business began on Church Street in Vienna and has the distinction of being the oldest continuously operating business in the area. Upon Howard’s passing in December 1931, his wife Ella A. Money managed the funeral home until her death in 1946. The legacy then passed to their grandson, Francis Howard King, who, along with his wife Edith A. Masters, purchased property at the corner of Maple Avenue and Lawyers Road and constructed the present funeral home in 1948. This building was notable as the first two-story commercial structure in Vienna and one of the first in the region built specifically as a funeral home rather than a converted residence. Francis King passed away in 1951, just three months after the building’s completion, but the family tradition of compassionate care continued.
