About

Wasatch Lawn Mortuary & Memorial Park, located at 3401 South Highland Drive in Millcreek, Utah, has been a cornerstone of the Salt Lake City community since its founding in 1912. Established by Stephen L. Richards, the 65-acre memorial park was envisioned as a place where 'serenity and peace of nature enshrine the tender memories of those we love.' In 1987, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary opened on the property, creating a seamless continuum of care that allows families to conveniently coordinate all funeral, cremation, and burial arrangements in one location. As a proud member of the Dignity Memorial network, the funeral home and cemetery combine the warm, familiar attention of locally operated businesses with the resources and value of a national provider.

The mortuary features a traditional chapel that can seat up to 300 guests, complete with modern audio and visual equipment for playing videos or slideshows during memorial services. The dedicated funeral directors excel at creating personalized celebrations of life, drawing inspiration from a loved one's favorite song, hobby, or iconic style. For cremation services, the team offers transparent pricing and a range of options, from simple cremation without a service to cremation followed by scattering, cemetery memorialization, or a celebration of life. Unique tributes include the Neptune Memorial Reef underwater cremation garden off the coast of Florida and Celestis Memorial Spaceflight. The facility adheres to strict custody-of-care protocols, using only crematories owned and operated by Dignity Memorial providers or trusted partners, with licensed and Cana-certified operators ensuring the highest standards.

Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park itself is a tranquil setting with breathtaking views of Mount Aire, Grandeur Peak, and Mount Raymond. The well-landscaped grounds feature mature trees, blooming flowers, nature gardens, sculptures, and water features. Burial and memorialization options include in-ground burial, outdoor mausoleum complexes, columbaria, crypts, cremation niches and benches, and private or semiprivate estates. The cremation garden is one of the few in Utah. Two indoor mausoleums, Garden of the Lilies and Everlasting Garden, are light-filled A-frame structures with glass-front niches that can be personalized. The Garden of the Lilies mausoleum includes a chapel for committal services or catered events. Veterans are honored in a dedicated section with a black granite mausoleum and flags for all military branches.

Wasatch Lawn is recognized for its excellence, having received the NFDA Pursuit of Excellence Award ten times and induction into the Hall of Excellence. It has also been named Best of State in Utah for five consecutive years. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and provides compassionate, ethical service. They support veterans through the Homeless Veterans Burial Program and offer no-cost funeral services for public servants who die in the line of duty. Annual community events include a Memorial Day service with bagpipers and flag raising, and a non-denominational Luminary event in December with 10,000 lighted luminaries. With a 100% service guarantee and prepayment plans, Wasatch Lawn Mortuary & Memorial Park remains a trusted and respected provider for generations of families.
