Goff Mortuary

Goff Mortuary is a family-owned and operated funeral home that has been serving the Midvale, Utah, community and the broader Wasatch Front since 1915. Founded by Clifford I. Goff, the business originally operated in downtown Midvale with a secondary furniture manufacturing and repair shop to support the mortuary until it could sustain itself. Clifford's son, Louis E. Goff, later joined the firm and eventually purchased the business from his father. Through the help of family and part-time employees, the mortuary grew steadily. In the mid-1950s, Louis hired Gates P. Christensen, who later acquired a portion of the business. Goff Mortuary was incorporated in the early 1960s, and a new facility was built at its current location, 8090 South State Street. In 1971, Gates Christensen and Del Ballard purchased the remaining interest from the Goff family. After Gates retired, Del Ballard, along with a team of licensed funeral directors and embalmers, continued the tradition of compassionate care. Today, Goff Mortuary remains dedicated to honoring legacies, providing personal service, and supporting families during their most difficult times.
