The story of Beaty Funeral Home began with Roger and Don Beaty, who were raised in and around the funeral profession by family friend Ray Edwards, a funeral home owner at McCary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Home. Ray Edwards mentored the brothers, instilling in them a passion for serving others in their time of need. Inspired by his example, Roger and Don Beaty attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and became licensed funeral directors in the early 1970s. In 1989, they realized a lifelong dream when they purchased the funeral home where they had practically grown up, renaming it Beaty Funeral Home. This purchase marked the beginning of a legacy committed to honoring lives and comforting families with dignity and respect. Over the following years, the Beaty family expanded their services and facilities. In 1991, they acquired the location in Mineola (formerly English Funeral Home), and in 1995 they dedicated a location in Hawkins and built a new facility at 816 West Broadway in Winnsboro to better serve the community. The family also owns and operates Roselawn Memorial Gardens, a perpetual care cemetery in Mineola. In 2001, the family experienced the loss of Roger, and ownership transitioned to the next generation. Today, Don's son, Paul Beaty, serves as managing director, continuing the tradition of caring service that has defined the firm for decades.
