Wackerman. What began as a single location in Germantown soon expanded to Northern Liberties, and in 1958 the family opened a funeral home in Fox Chase, which remains its home today. Charles Wackerman was a distinguished figure in the funeral profession, serving as a lifetime member of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, holding its presidency for several years, and later sitting as chairman of the Pennsylvania State Board of Funeral Directors. His wife, Dorothy Meehan Wackerman, earned her funeral director's license in 1952, further cementing the family's commitment to the field.

The legacy continued with their son, Austin C. Wackerman (1944–2017), a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, who received his license in 1969. A longtime member of the Artisans and a devoted parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Church in Rydal, Austin brought a deep sense of community and faith to his work. Today, the third generation carries this tradition forward. Elizabeth "Betsy" Wackerman Bailey, a graduate of Northampton Community College, Villanova University, and licensed in 1993, now serves as the supervisor of the funeral home. Her sister, Emily Wackerman Ellingsworth, licensed in 2010, brings her own dedication after studying at Northampton Community College and Arcadia University. Active in their local churches and schools, both women embody the family's commitment to personalized, faith-centered care.
