The history of the Schisler organization dates back to January 1, 1929, when funeral director Albert A. Schisler and his wife, Ruth Young, purchased a building in Northampton, Pennsylvania. After extensive renovations, the business was sold in 1944 to Albert's brother, Harold M. Schisler, and his wife, Dorothy Smith. Harold expanded the facilities in 1955 by acquiring the Odd Fellows building to create additional parking and a modern canopy. Following Harold's passing in 1973, his son Arthur Schisler took over the business and continued to modernize the funeral home. In 1985, the Schisler family expanded to Nazareth through an affiliation with the Ralston J. Bartholomew Funeral Home, forming Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home Inc. This partnership combined 110 years of service experience. Further growth led to additional locations in Palmerton and Lehighton, allowing the organization to serve a wider region with the same dedication to quality care.
