Singer Kader Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., located at 135 W. Main Street in Howard, Pennsylvania, has a longstanding history in the Centre County community. Originally operated by Curt Kader from 1996 until 2023, the funeral home was a trusted provider of dignified funeral and cremation services. In 2023, Kader sold the business to Garrett A. Singer, expecting a successful transition. However, the business soon faced severe allegations of mishandling human remains, leading to its closure. In March 2025, Singer pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse, and the state board suspended his license. The scandal shook the tight-knit community, leaving many families disappointed and seeking answers.

In response, the funeral home was acquired by Wetzler Funeral Service and Victorian Crematory, a family-owned business with deep roots in Bellefonte. Fifth-generation owner Dylan Wetzler reopened the location on August 13, 2025, under the Wetzler name, but the legacy of Singer Kader Neff remains part of the property's history. Wetzler has committed to a comprehensive $200,000 renovation, including raised ceilings, larger bathrooms, new siding, windows, and flooring, to restore the facility to a condition befitting the community's trust. All pre-need arrangements made with Singer Kader Neff are fully honored at both Wetzler locations.

The new management aims to rebuild the funeral home's reputation by providing compassionate, professional services including traditional funerals, cremations, and memorial services. The facility is wheelchair accessible with gender-neutral restrooms and is identified as inclusive, owned by diverse groups.
