Sanders Funeral Service, located at 124 East Broadway Avenue in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, is a locally owned and family-operated funeral home with a rich history spanning over a century. Founded in 1899 by Arthur Bracken, the funeral home originally operated as Kingfisher Funeral Home. Mr. Bracken played a pivotal role in the early funeral industry, helping establish the Oklahoma Board of Embalmers and writing its bylaws, many of which are still in use today. He held the first embalmer's license in Oklahoma, a historic document that remains proudly displayed in the funeral home's foyer.

In 1967, Rusty Sanders moved his family to Kingfisher to serve as a funeral director and embalmer under Fred Langley. Embracing the community's small-town values, Rusty and his wife Fran decided to raise their family there. In 1978, Rusty purchased the funeral home and renamed it Sanders Funeral Service, continuing a legacy of compassionate care. Today, the business is led by Rusty's son, Chad Sanders, who grew up in the industry and trained under his father. Chad earned a bachelor's degree in funeral science from the University of Central Oklahoma and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1991. He is known for his expertise in restorative art and makeup, often receiving praise from families for the peaceful appearance of their loved ones. Chad's wife, Shelley, serves as the office administrator and brings over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse and paramedic.

Sanders Funeral Service offers a full range of services including traditional funerals, cremations, and memorial packages. They also provide video tributes and have a newly remodeled chapel that comfortably accommodates large gatherings.
