The business was founded in 1957 when members of the Flynn family purchased the real and personal property formerly owned by John D. Ryan, which included a funeral home and furniture store in the village of Greenwich. In 1961, Harold E., Leo J., and James A. Flynn began construction of a second funeral home in Schuylerville, expanding their ability to serve families in the region. Over the following years, the Flynns acquired the Hughes Funeral Home in Schuylerville in 1966 and the funeral business of John Garrett in Greenwich in 1976. In 1973, Joseph J. Turcotte began purchasing shares of the company's stock, and after the retirements of the Flynn brothers, he became the sole owner. In 2010, Joseph’s daughter, Jamie Turcotte Nevins, purchased the funeral home from her father, and with her husband Ken, continued to operate it as an independent family business. In 2024, Jason M. Easton purchased Flynn Bros. Inc. from Jamie and Ken, ensuring the continuation of the funeral home as a locally owned, family-run establishment. Jason works part-time with Jamie and Ken to maintain a seamless transition of care. Flynn Bros. Inc. offers a wide range of services designed to support families during their most difficult times.
