About

Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc. is a family-owned, full-service funeral home proudly serving the Depew, New York community and surrounding areas of Lancaster, Cheektowaga, Alden, Bowmansville, West Seneca, and all of Western New York. Established in 1963 by Edward J. Cichon and his wife Helen, the funeral home originally opened in the home of Edward’s uncle, Chester Flick. For nearly forty years, the Cichons dedicated themselves to providing compassionate care to local families. In 2000, as the Cichons entered semi-retirement, Brian Borgosz and his family moved into the apartment above the funeral home and took up the mantle of service, striving to continue the Cichon legacy. A modest remodel in 2005 included an expanded porch and reconfiguration of the space, along with a name change to Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc. Recognizing the need for additional space, the funeral home underwent an extensive remodel in the spring of 2011, adding new handicap-accessible features and expanded rooms to provide greater comfort for the families they serve.

Today, the funeral home is locally owned and operated by the Borgosz family, who remain committed to the guiding principle of treating every family who comes to them as their own. They invite families into their home with sincerity, pride, and dedication, upholding a time-honored tradition of personalized care. Unlike large, impersonal conglomerates, Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home values professionalism, dignity, and personal attention. Their mission is to help families honor, grieve, and celebrate life by creating services that are both meaningful and comforting.

Cichon-Borgosz offers a wide range of affordable services to meet diverse needs and preferences. These include traditional funerals that may feature private or public viewings followed by burial or cremation, direct cremation starting at $795 (funeral home charge), and memorial visitation with the urn present in the funeral home starting at $2,120. Traditional funeral packages begin at $4,330 and include removal, embalming, dressing and casketing, cosmetology, basic arrangements, supervision for visitation and funeral, use of the funeral home, transportation to final disposition, a 20-gauge metal casket, memorial cards, acknowledgement cards, a register book, and one copy of a memorial video. All pricing is based on the general price list dated July 1, 2024, which is available on their website. The facility is wheelchair accessible with on-site parking, ensuring ease of access for all.

The dedicated staff of highly qualified and deeply caring individuals are available to assist families in their time of need. They also offer pre-planning services, grief support, and beautifully designed interactive online tributes where visitors can leave condolences, share memories, post photos, and light candles. For those unable to attend services in person, these online resources provide a meaningful way to pay respects. Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc. stands as a pillar of the community, offering comfort, peace of mind, and exceptional service with sincerity and pride since 1963.
