Jewish Memorial Chapel, located at 841 Allwood Road in Clifton, New Jersey, is a distinguished nonprofit funeral home with a profound commitment to serving the Jewish community with dignity, tradition, and compassion. Established in 1921, the Chapel began its legacy in a modest building on Columbia Avenue in Passaic. As the community grew, it relocated to 71-74 Howe Avenue in Passaic in 1949, and in 1999, the organization constructed a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility in Clifton, conveniently situated just off Route 3. In 2005, they added a stand-alone, climate-controlled Kohanim Chapel, complete with bi-directional audio/video connectivity to the main Chapel, ensuring that all traditions are honored and that services remain accessible to every family member.

One of only a few nonprofit funeral homes in the United States, Jewish Memorial Chapel operates under the supervision of local Synagogues and Jewish organizations in the Passaic and Essex County area. This unique structure allows the Chapel to donate any surplus earnings back to the community each year, supporting local Jewish charities focused on education, health, and care for the elderly. The Chapel’s funerals are conducted under the guidance of the local Chevra Kadisha and are supervised by Rabbi Elchonon Zohn, Director of Vaad of Queens, ensuring strict adherence to Halacha (Jewish Law).

The facility is fully wheelchair accessible and provides on-site parking for the convenience of families and visitors. They offer a pre-payment plan through CHOICES, the New Jersey Prepaid Funeral Trust Fund, and provide financial assistance to those in need.
