About

Miller Funeral Home, LLC, located at 323 Maple Street in Clarkson, Nebraska, is a longtime provider of dignified and professional funeral services. As part of the Gass Haney Funeral Homes family, the establishment serves the Clarkson community and surrounding areas with a deep commitment to honoring each unique life through personalized memorials. The history of Miller Funeral Home is deeply rooted in local heritage, beginning in 1905 when Frank J. Miller of Dodge, Nebraska, married Mary Chleboun and, with the assistance of her father John Chlebourn, opened Miller's Store in Clarkson. The store initially sold furniture and also provided undertaking services for the community. In 1909, the business relocated to the building that later housed Stockmans Tavern, operating there until 1929, when a move was made to 226 Pine Street. The funeral home operated out of the Pine Street location until 1952. In 1932, Frank Miller Jr. joined his father in the business. Following Frank Miller Sr.'s death in 1949, the family residence at 323 Maple Street was converted into the funeral home in 1952 and became known as Miller Funeral Home. Frank Miller III entered the business with his father in 1961, and that same year the family purchased the Novotny Funeral Home in Clarkson. Frank Miller Jr. passed away in 1990. To accommodate growing needs, a 20-foot by 36-foot addition was constructed on the north side of the funeral home in 1962. On October 1, 1999, Frank Miller sold the business to Dan and Jeff Wisnieski of Schuyler, Nebraska. In 2013, Gary Sharman and Brad Ramaekers purchased the business from Jeff Wisnieski, with Brad Ramaekers retiring in 2021. Today, Miller Funeral Home continues its tradition of compassionate care. The facility offers a full range of services, including burial and cremation options, personalized tributes, veteran services, and preplanning assistance. The funeral home features an onsite chapel and is fully accessible with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot. On-site parking is available for guests. Staff members are dedicated to accommodating each family's needs and creating meaningful, memorable services. Operating hours are Monday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The funeral home can be reached by phone at (402) 892-3434. With over a century of history and a steadfast commitment to the Clarkson community, Miller Funeral Home provides a blend of tradition and modern care to help families through difficult times.
