The funeral home’s roots trace back to 1945, when community leaders in Mohall convinced Truman Dahle to move his funeral business from Carpio, North Dakota. He established Dahle Funeral Home in an old church that was relocated and placed over a newly dug basement. In 1969, Richard G. "Dick" Anderson, a Glenburn native, purchased the funeral home and renamed it Anderson Mortuary. Dick and his wife Helene operated it until his retirement in 1996. That year, William C. "Bill" Nelson, coming from a family of funeral directors, took ownership and operated the funeral home as Anderson-Nelson Funeral Home. In 2004, Jeff Brose, originally from Hillsboro, North Dakota, purchased the business and, after a few years, changed the name to Brose Funeral Home, continuing the tradition of personalized, community-focused service.
