About

Davidson Funeral Home has been a pillar of the Winston-Salem and Lexington communities since 1865, serving families with compassion, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility for over 160 years. As a locally owned and operated funeral home, it honors the trust placed in it by generations of families, offering personalized care that reflects the unique life and legacy of each individual. The funeral home operates two convenient locations: the historic Lexington chapel at 301 North Main Street and the modern Hickory Tree chapel at 858 Hickory Tree Road in Winston-Salem. The Lexington location, originally a residence built in the early 20th century, has been carefully expanded over the years, including a dedicated chapel built in 1970, a selection and preparation room completed in 1990, and a major 16,000-square-foot addition finished in 2006 that now serves as a landmark in the revitalized uptown district. The Hickory Tree chapel was built in 1999 on 3.39 acres, offering 8,800 square feet of spacious rooms and a large chapel designed to serve the rapidly growing northern Davidson County and Winston-Salem areas. Davidson Funeral Home provides a full range of services, including traditional funerals, memorial services, cremation, and preplanning options. It takes pride in being home to Davidson County's only on-site crematory, which provides families with an added level of care, accountability, and peace of mind throughout the cremation process. The experienced team understands that every family has a unique story, and they are committed to listening first, serving with compassion, and walking alongside families with intentional care at every step. Beyond their professional duties, the staff members live, worship, volunteer, and raise their families in the same communities they serve. Many actively participate in state and national funeral service organizations, continually seeking to improve and better serve those who place their confidence in them. The funeral home also offers a variety of support resources, including veteran services that honor the service of military members, the ability to send flowers, grief support materials, and a year of weekly grief messages designed to provide strength and comfort during the challenging months following a loss. Livestream capabilities and online obituary notifications help keep families connected, while online planning tools make prearrangement convenient and accessible. Davidson Funeral Home believes that the smallest details often make the biggest difference, and it is committed to honoring every life with dignity and respect. Whether a family is planning ahead, facing an immediate loss, or simply seeking guidance, the funeral home stands ready to provide a steady presence and compassionate guidance rooted in the values of hard work, hospitality, and community that have defined Davidson County since the 19th century. Thank you for allowing the privilege of serving your family. The team at Davidson Funeral Home is dedicated to caring for your loved one as they would their own.
