Lind Family Funeral & Cremation Services has been a pillar of compassionate care in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota, and the surrounding lakes region for over a century. The Parkers Prairie location at 122 South McCornell Avenue traces its roots to a furniture and undertaking business started by Charles and Nellie Grengnagle in 1892. As the first licensed mortician in Minnesota, Charles established a legacy of dignified service that has been passed down through multiple generations of dedicated owners. From Pete Hammes in 1938 to Oscar Palmquist in 1940, and later Robert and Dottie LaMere in 1965, each family owner brought a deep commitment to the community. The LaMeres also provided ambulance service until 1972. In 1992, Ron and Kris Markham purchased the business and expanded services by opening a funeral chapel in Miltona in 1999, further extending their reach to families in the lakes area.

In 2004, Curt and Barb Lind, both licensed funeral directors and graduates of the University of Minnesota, became owners. They have since remodeled and updated the chapels to create warm, comfortable spaces for families to gather. In 2015, they opened a third chapel in Alexandria. Today, the Lind family — including Curt, Barb, Peter, and Sari — personally oversees every aspect of service, ensuring a multi-generational, family-centered approach that treats each family with the same compassion, dignity, and respect they would offer their own loved ones.
