About
Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home’s Hebron chapel, located at 1833 Petersburg Road, is a cornerstone of compassionate care in Boone County, Kentucky. The funeral home’s roots trace back to 1902, when W. A. Bullock established a funeral service in Hebron while also operating the general store and serving as the town’s postmaster. At that time, visitations were typically held in private homes, and funeral services took place either at the residence or at a local church. Mr. Bullock was in the process of purchasing what is now the Hebron funeral home at the time of his passing in 1933. His dream was realized in October 1953, when his son, Wilfred Earl “Shorty” Bullock, purchased the property—the former home of James Hart, owner of the Hart Tea and Coffee Company of Cincinnati. He dedicated the facility as a memorial to his father, naming it the Bullock Boone County Memorial Funeral Home. The chapel opened for formal inspection on Sunday, October 12, 1953, marking the beginning of a legacy of dignified service that continues today.
