The history of Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is rich and rooted in Peoria. Parkview Cemetery was founded in 1921 by a group of businessmen led by C.T. Hutchison. In 1938, Delbert and Helen Davison established Davison Funeral Home on South Western Avenue. After Delbert's sudden death in 1968, George Fulton purchased the business. Following a tragic fire at the original location, a new chapel was built in Bartonville in 1973, and the name changed to Davison-Fulton Funeral Chapels. In 1980, the Woodland Chapel opened adjacent to Parkview Cemetery to serve Peoria's north side. The location joined the Dignity Memorial network in 1989. Today, the team offers 24/7 availability, pre-planning consultations (in-person or virtual), veteran memorial services, and annual community events such as a Memorial Day service, a holiday memorial service, and a Mother's Day flower distribution. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is dedicated to honoring every life with dignity, creativity, and heartfelt care.
