DeRoo Funeral Home, Ltd. has been a cornerstone of the Moline, Illinois community for over 85 years, providing compassionate and professional funeral and cremation services to families in the Quad Cities area. Founded in September 1936 by Eugene U. DeRoo at 1706 Ninth Street, the funeral home quickly established a reputation built on service, care, and personal attention. In 1939, the business moved to 1611 Seventh Street, a location it would occupy for more than eight decades. Over the years, the funeral home underwent multiple expansions, including a chapel and family room addition in 1952 that earned a Moline Chamber of Commerce beautification award, and a 2,000-square-foot addition in 1982 that added a chapel, family room, office, and other facilities. In 2023, DeRoo Funeral Home relocated to a modern facility at 1811 15th Street Place, Moline, IL 61265, where it continues to serve families alongside Wendt Funeral Home and Mississippi Valley Cremation & Direct Burial under one roof. This move does not affect any existing or future client arrangements.

Today, DeRoo Funeral Home is proud to be a family-owned and operated business now in its third generation. Eugene’s son, Kevin DeRoo, joined the firm in 1973 and formed a partnership in 1977. In 2005, Kevin’s son, Jeff DeRoo, joined the firm, continuing a tradition of personalized service that has spanned nearly ninety years.
