Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation, LLC, located at 3117 South Oak Park Avenue in Berwyn, Illinois, is a family-owned funeral home with a legacy of compassionate service dating back to 1909. Founded by Alex A. Kopicki in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, the business expanded under his son Gerald A. in the 1930s to serve the growing Chicagoland area. In 1974, George T. Kopicki established Heritage Funeral Home by acquiring the Herron & Son Funeral Home, which had served Berwyn for 50 years. Kevin T. Kopicki joined his father in 1983, representing the fourth generation of family leadership. In 1984, the facility underwent a major expansion and remodeling to include three beautifully appointed chapels, private on-site parking, a casket selection room, and full accessibility for individuals with disabilities—including wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and seating.
