Formerly operating as Wise Family Memorial Chapel, the business underwent a meaningful transition in November 2022 when funeral director and embalmer Sarah J. Moore, together with her husband Michael G. Moore, assumed ownership. The couple brought new energy and a renewed commitment to quality care, officially renaming the establishment Moore Memorial Homes while retaining the same trusted staff and service standards.

Sarah Moore, a native of the Abingdon and Avon/St. Augustine area, earned her degree in Mortuary Science in 2013 and built her career through apprenticeships and roles at respected funeral homes, including Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy, Illinois, and McGuire & Davies Funeral Home in Monmouth. Her experience in both funeral service and pathology at Galesburg Cottage Hospital gives her a uniquely thorough understanding of the needs of grieving families. Michael Moore, a Roseville native with a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from Illinois State University, brings his background in farming and crop specialization to the partnership, ensuring the business is grounded in local values and operational excellence.

The Alexis facility offers a full range of services, including traditional burial, cremation, casket selection, and personalized funeral planning. The chapel is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot, making it welcoming for all visitors. On-site parking is available for convenience. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors with her three children, fishing, camping, and attending school events.
