About

Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel, located at 640 Lee Road in Orlando, Florida, has served the Jewish community with dignity and compassion since its founding in 1984. The concept was born in the late 1970s and early 1980s when W.E. Manny Adams, a funeral director with experience at Riverside Memorial Chapels in Miami, recognized the need for a dedicated Jewish funeral home in Orlando. At that time, Orlando had a close-knit Jewish community with three active temples. After consulting with rabbis, Jewish Family Services, and the Greater Orlando Federation, Adams spent a year developing a business plan, securing financing from Morris Robinson, and enlisting public relations expert Samuel P. Goldstein. The funeral home opened in December 1984 at 115 West Gore Street, a house previously owned by a prominent Jewish family. The immediate positive response led to a $200,000 renovation in 1990. In 1994, Robinson retired, and Adams partnered with James R. Cardinal of Hawthorne Funeral Home. Recognizing the need for a larger facility, they purchased the building at 640 Lee Road, completing a modern renovation and moving in April 1997. This relocation was warmly embraced by the community, solidifying Beth Shalom’s role as an integral part of Jewish life cycle events. By June 2009, the chapel had served over 2,900 families over 25 years. Today, Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel offers comprehensive funeral and cremation services, including traditional Jewish funerals, simple cremation, burial services, grief support, urn selection, and military funeral services with veteran burial flags. The chapel also provides monument making services. The facility is wheelchair accessible with an on-site chapel, gender-neutral restroom, and ample parking. Operating hours are Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The dedicated staff, led by experienced funeral directors, ensures honest and personalized attention, professional handling of legal matters, and sensitive support. They respect the wishes of both the deceased and the bereaved, guiding families through every decision—from casket selection to music and flowers. Preplanning services are available for peace of mind. With a perfect 5-star rating on Google Maps and a reputation built on tradition, professionalism, and compassionate care, Beth Shalom Memorial Chapel remains a trusted companion during life’s most difficult moments.
