Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery

10201 North Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229

About

Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery has been a cornerstone of the Thornton and greater Denver area for over seven decades, offering compassionate funeral, cremation, and cemetery services. The cemetery was established in 1952 on former farmland owned by the Green family, and the funeral home was added in 1965 to meet the needs of a growing community. Today, the 40-acre property provides breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains, creating a serene and dignified final resting place.

As part of the Dignity Memorial® network—North America’s largest group of funeral, cremation, and cemetery service providers—Olinger Highland is committed to exceptional care and professionalism. The funeral home’s main chapel seats 175 guests, and the spacious Long’s Peak reception room offers a place for catered gatherings. The facility also features five visitation rooms and five arrangement rooms, all recently renovated for a modern, welcoming atmosphere. An onsite chapel, wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, and free parking ensure convenience for all families.

Olinger Highland offers a full range of services, including traditional burial, cremation, memorial services, and pre-planning options. The cemetery provides diverse burial choices: flush-to-ground memorials, upright monuments, a mausoleum, memorial and cremation benches, private gated estates, and a dedicated cremation garden. The Garden of Tranquility features a water element and gazebo, while the new Tranquility Mausoleum offers over 350 casket spaces with bronze memorial plaques and stunning mountain vistas.

Recognized for excellence, the funeral home has received the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Pursuit of Excellence Award for outstanding community service, professional integrity, and high ethical standards. In 2017, the Thornton Police Department honored Olinger Highland with an American flag that was flown at the World Trade Center. The team of funeral directors brings more than 90 combined years of experience and is active in the NFDA and Colorado Funeral Directors Association.

Olinger Highland also honors veterans through a dedicated program, including the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, ensuring every veteran receives a dignified military burial. The facility is available 24/7, and families can pre-plan to lock in prices and receive up to 10% off cemetery property and funeral plans. In response to Colorado’s ongoing drought conditions, the grounds team has implemented water conservation measures to maintain the cemetery with respect and care.

Whether for immediate need or future planning, Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery provides a peaceful, supportive environment where families can honor their loved ones with dignity.
