After 35 years, he sold to John and Lorene Zobel, who renamed it Zobel Mortuary. Their sons, Bruce and William, took over in 1976, and Bruce became sole owner in 1977. In 1980, Owen Grant purchased the business, renaming it Grant Mortuary. Owen continues to work at the funeral home today, a testament to his enduring commitment. Recognizing the need in Meeker and Rio Blanco County, Owen opened a second location at 345 6th Street.
