About
McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Yorba Linda, California, has been a cornerstone of compassionate funeral and cremation care since 1911. Founded by Angus McAulay and Harry Suters as McAulay & Suters Funeral Home in Fullerton, the mortuary moved to its present location at 18311 Lemon Drive in 1941. After Angus passed away, his son A. Jay McAulay took over and later served in World War II. Upon his return, Jay partnered with Harry until Harry's passing in the 1960s. In 1969, Tom Wallace acquired an interest, leading to the name change to McAulay and Wallace Mortuary. Jay's son Bill joined the family business in 1971, and the facility was extensively remodeled in 1973-1974. Bill continued the legacy of personalized service until the mortuary became part of the Dignity Memorial network in 2022. Today, McAulay & Wallace Mortuary serves Yorba Linda and surrounding communities including Anaheim Hills, Brea, Buena Park, Chino Hills, Fullerton, Placentia, Tustin, and Villa Park.
The mortuary offers a wide range of services designed to honor each life uniquely. Traditional funerals and modern celebrations of life can be tailored to reflect the personality and passions of the departed, whether that includes a barbecue with live music, a religious service with reception, or an intimate outdoor scattering ceremony. The dedicated team works one-on-one with families to ensure every detail—from floral arrangements and music to decor and mementos—meets their wishes and budget.
Cremation services are a specialty, with all-inclusive pricing and expertise in scattering ashes. Options include direct cremation without a service, a funeral followed by cremation, or cremation with a scattering, memorialization, or celebration of life. For those seeking something extraordinary, the mortuary can arrange for ashes to be placed in the Neptune Memorial Reef underwater cremation garden or sent into space via Celestis Memorial Spaceflight.
Pre-planning is strongly encouraged to relieve families of financial and emotional burdens. The mortuary offers in-person, virtual, and in-home consultations, along with a free Personal Planning Guide. Veterans and public servants are honored with specialized programs and a free veterans planning guide. The facility is wheelchair accessible with free on-site parking, and an onsite chapel is available for services. Payment options include prepayment plans, and the Dignity Memorial 100% Service Guarantee ensures every detail meets expectations. Open 24/7, the caring staff is always ready to assist with immediate needs or tours.
