Rockco Funeral Home, located at 3715 Highway 25 in Montevallo, Alabama, has been a trusted pillar of the community for over six decades. The funeral home’s history traces back to January 1963 when Gordon Hoffman, a graduate of the John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennessee, relocated from Citronelle, Alabama, to Montevallo and remodeled a house on Main Street, opening it as Hoffman Funeral Home. In 1965, following Gordon’s passing, his son-in-law Billy G. Rockco—who was then attending the same mortuary school—took over the business and renamed it Hoffman-Rockco Funeral Home. By 1968, construction of a new facility began on Highway 25 South, and over the years the facility was remodeled twice, eventually becoming known as Rockco Funeral Home. Billy Rockco retired in 1998 after a long and dedicated career of serving the community. Today, Rockco Funeral Home is proud to be a member of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation, and cemetery service providers.
