Founded in February 1978 by Mary R. McInnis and the late James E. McInnis, the funeral home originally opened its doors in Eutaw, Alabama, at 267 Demopolis Highway (now also referred to as Demopolis Road). James served as a licensed mortician in both Alabama and Mississippi, while Mary, a licensed funeral director, managed the daily operations. Their son, Eric J. McInnis, grew up in the business and later became a co-owner after his father’s passing in July 2008. Over the years, McInnis Mortuary has expanded its reach. In December 1990, a second location opened at 110 Marshall Street in Livingston, Alabama, allowing the family to better serve families in that area.
